What is Labor Law Section 241?

Labor Law Section 241 protects workers engaged in construction, demolition, or excavation work. The Department of Labor publishes industrial code rules that give requirements for people engaged in that work. What Labor Law Section 241 allows is those workers, if they’re injured, to make claims against the owner of the property and the general contractor. Because Labor Law Section 241 makes the owner and the general contractor responsible for job-site safety.
