New Rochelle, NY (April 4, 2019) – On Thursday afternoon, April 4th, at least two Parks and Recreation employees suffered injuries while performing routine clean-up duties, according to authorities. The incident was reported to have occurred when a tree that was being removed fell in Neptune Park around 4:00 p.m.
According to officials with Con Ed, a tree was in the process of being removed as crews were working in the area to make some necessary repairs. The tree was reported to have then fallen onto a secondary wire in the park, subsequently resulting in injuries to two Parks and Rec employees.
Emergency medical crews were quickly called to the scene of the incident where they transported both injured parties to a local hospital. One of the workers were reported to have sustained a head injury, while the other suffered an injury to his shoulder. The extent of the injuries has not been stated at this time.
