Midtown, Manhattan, NY (June 11, 2019) – According to authorities, a section of scaffolding came loose on Tuesday morning, June 11th, and caused bricks to fall from a construction site, subsequently injuring two pedestrians. The incident was reported to have taken place around 9:00 a.m. at 42 West 39th Street.
At the time of the incident, there were two construction workers on the scaffold when it came loose from the building. Bricks from the structure fell from an unspecified height and struck two pedestrians, according to police. Both victims sustained at least minor injuries. However, whether or not they were hospitalized was not reported. Neither of the workers was hurt during the mishap.
Crews were reported to have secured the loose scaffold and no further information has been provided at this time.
