Brooklyn, NY (June 28, 2019) – A man who has been arrested over 160 times has been arrested again for sexual abuse in Brooklyn. The recent incident was reported to have happened sometime on Wednesday morning, June 26th, in a subway heading from Brooklyn to Manhattan.
According to authorities, 67-year-old Gian Verdelli, who is a registered sex offender, was stated to have groped a woman as she was boarding a Manhattan-bound L train. The victim, a 37-year-old NYPD traffic agent, was getting on the subway when Verdelli allegedly put his hand under her dress. The victim confronted the suspect, who simply remarked about it being too crowded.
The victim took the suspect’s picture when they got off the train at the 1st Avenue and East 14th Avenue station in Manhattan, and police apprehended him around 5:30 a.m. on Friday, June 28th. Verdelli has a long history of arrests and now faces charges of persistent sexual abuse, as well as sexual abuse and forcible touching.
