Canaan, NY (June 26, 2019) – According to state police, an employee who works for a company that provided youth services has been arrested and accused of sexually abusing minors as of Wednesday, June 26th. Police stated that Kelli Wagers, 39, is the accused employee who now faces several charges.
While the details surrounding the allegations against Wagers are currently unclear, authorities reported that staff at Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth alerted Troopers of the possibility of sexual abuse by an employee. The allegations were made on June 17th and resulted in a subsequent investigation.
Investigators stated that Wagers was arrested on two counts of criminal sex act and two counts of sexual abuse, as well as endangering the welfare of a child. The suspect was arraigned and taken to Columbia County Jail on $15,000 bail. The precise ages of the victims have not been released but police stated that both are under 17-years-old.
