Esperance, NY (June 17, 2019) – One person was tragically killed during a rollover accident at the event known as Mountain Madness that took place between June 13th and June 16th on Lape Road, according to police. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has identified the deceased victim as 19-year-old Katie L. Falgiano, of Budd Lake, NJ.
According to initial reports, Falgiano was at partially ejected from a vehicle she was a passenger in during the outdoor motorsports event. Falgiano ended up pinned underneath the vehicle after it rolled over and several bystanders quickly pulled her from under the vehicle before medical professionals arrived.
Emergency responders were called to the scene and the victim was immediately airlifted to Albany Medical Center. Unfortunately, Falgiano’s injuries proved to be fatal, as she was pronounced dead a short time later. The official cause of the accident is under active investigation.
