Seneca Falls, NY (May 14, 2019) – A former school teacher has been arrested on charges of engaging in sexual contact with a minor, according to authorities. Police announced the arrest of Lindsey Halstead, 29, of East Bloomfield, on Tuesday, May 14th, stating that she is charged with sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to investigators, Halstead had sexual contact with a 16-year-old teenager but did not mention the time frame of when the alleged incident occurred. Halstead was employed as a teacher with the Waterloo Central School District from September 2014 until February 2018. She was also a substitute teacher at the Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District from February 2018 until April 2019.
The investigation into the alleged abuse is currently ongoing and Halstead may possibly face more charges in the future.
