Orangeburg, NY (January 24, 2019) – Police in Orangeburg have stated that a worker at Icco Cheese Company was tragically found deceased inside one of the mixing machines that were reported to have been assigned as his work station. The Orangetown Police Department in Rockland County stated that the man has been identified as Edwin Nunez, of Patterson, NJ.
According to officers, authorities responded to a call on Tuesday, January 15, where they found Nunez trapped inside of a mixing machine. Emergency medical responders were immediately at the scene as paramedics tragically pronounced Nunez dead at that location.
Nunez appeared to be the victim of a tragic workplace accident, however, there has been no official word concerning exactly how Nunez ended up entangled in the machine. The investigation into this incident is currently being conducted by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
